These are members of the South African Youth Climate Change Coalition (SAYCCC) and participants in the UN Climate Change Conference – COP24, held in Katowice, Poland.
The National Business Initiative (NBI) hosted the South African Pavilion in the COP24 venue. A pavilion is an area of exhibition and side events. Various events were held in this area including the side event organized by youth for the African Youth COP24 Delegates – in the first photo of this blog.
This is Thobeka Shange, a member of SAYCCC and youth representative at COP24. She formed part of the South African delegation. This is one of the moments where delegates engage the world about the progress of the conference, and they do so by sharing their impressions or reflections with the media.
The SAYCCC hosted a side event at S.African pavilion, it was about Talanoa Dialogue. The Talanoa Dialogue is an inclusive, participatory, and transparent platform for climate talks. Its aim is to raise ambitions for climate action and the equitable implementation of the Paris Agreement.
